What is equality and diversity?
Equality is about making sure people are treated fairly and given fair chances. Equality is not about treating everyone in the same way, but it recognises that their needs are met in different ways.
Diversity is the acknowledgement and respect of differences within and between groups of people. Equality is the framework that enables opportunity, access, participation and contribution that is fair and inclusive.
Getting hold of information
Did you know that Flourish Homes can provide information in lots of different ways?
Typetalk
We use the RNID Typetalk service so that people with hearing difficulties can still ring Flourish Homes if they have a textphone or we can ring you.
Braille
We have bought a special printer which means letters and other documents can be printed out in Braille.
Large Print
Our leaflets and homelink are available with big print and we can send out letters using large print if you let us know you want them like this.
Language Line
We use a special telephone service that uses interpreters to translate into another language. We can also translate documents into your home language. Find out more here.
On CD or tape
We use the RNIB to put homelink onto either a CD or tape so that you can listen to it at your leisure – useful if you have sight problems or if you want to listen to it while you get on with something else.
Sign language
We can arrange for a sign language interpreter to be present when you visit if you let us know in advance.
Ring 01749 334312 to get information in any of these ways.

Disability Action Plan
We have a Disability Action Plan to make sure people living with disabilities have equal access to our services. We had a five year action plan running which has now been completed.
