Flourish Homes PUTS LEARNING FIRST

Flourish Homes's strategy of ensuring the best training for its staff has paid dividends this month with a record number of exam passes.

The local housing association helps staff study for a range of qualifications appropriate to their positions; these cover areas as diverse as accountancy, housing studies, chartered surveying and business management.

Staff celebrating exam success at Flourish Homes this month include Ian Cory, the association's Continuous Improvement Co-ordinator. After undertaking a post graduate diploma in Housing Studies at the University of the West of England, Ian continued with his studies with an APEX course and has achieved the high professional qualification of MCIH - a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Other successful Flourish Homes staff include Legal Administration Assistant Teresa Manville who has successfully passed exams in General Principles of Law and Procedural Law to achieve a Higher Certificate in Paralegal Studies; Contract Surveyor Darren Stone who has passed the Professional Certificate in Management Studies; Support Manager Lin Bisgrove who has achieved her NVQ Level 3 in Support Housing; Administration Assistant Charlotte Hewer who has completed her NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and Assistant Accountant Rachel Bird who has passed her first exams in CIMA.

Jane King, Personnel and Training Manager at Flourish Homes, said that last year Flourish Homes achieved Investors in People recognition and since then the association has been committed to delivery training excellence.

She said: "The hard work and enthusiasm shown by our staff to improve their qualifications is wonderful. I congratulate them all for their hard work and determination."
