If you’re driving home towards Wells on Christmas Eve watch out for two elves making a run for home.
Ben Cane and Matt Dyer are donning some rather tight looking elf suits on their last day at work before Christmas to run home to Wells from the offices of local housing association Flourish Homes in Shepton Mallet.
Both are raising money for the Stroke Association, a charity close to the heart of Ben Cane, who is Aster Group Head of Development at Flourish Homes and a keen runner.
“My nan died of a stroke related illness on Christmas Eve, 2008, so I thought I’d organise this run to try to raise some money for the charity. We had some elf costumes lying around the office – as you do! – so I thought dressing up would be a good way to encourage my colleagues to part with some cash to see me run in the suit. And I was delighted when Matt Dyer said he’d join me on the run, suitably dressed of course!”
Matt Dyer also works at Flourish Homes’ Shepton Mallet office where he is team leader for Aster Property Management which provides a repairs service to the housing provider.
