Tenant groups
There are:

  • Seven tenant and residents associations.
  • Four Area Forums: Frome Area Forum, Cathedral City Area Forum, Glastonbury & Street Area Forum, Shepton Mallet and Surrounding Hamlets Area Forum.
  • Sheltered Housing Tenants’ Forum
  • Mendip Tenants’ Federation (consists of five representatives from each Area Forum and the Sheltered Housing Tenants' Forum)
  • Tenant Board Members

The Tenants' Federation

The Tenants' Federation is the strategic body representing tenants. It is supported by Mendip Housing.

The Federation can have up to 25 members, comprising five representatives elected from each of the four area forums plus five representatives elected from the Sheltered Housing Tenants' Forum. The Federation meets on a monthly basis at Mendip Housing's offices in Shepton Mallet.

A major part of the role of the Federation is working with us on policies and strategies, on the Tenants' Compact, and consulting on major documents and proposals.

Please click here for a copy of the Federation's code of conduct.

Tenants’ Area Forums

Tenant Area Forums cover four areas:

  • Shepton Mallet and surrounding hamlets
  • Wells
  • Street and Glastonbury
  • Frome

Membership of an Area Forum is open to all residents living in that area. They provide an opportunity to meet and discuss issues of common concern.

They also monitor the working practices and performance of Mendip Housing and provide an opportunity for residents to express their views to Mendip Housing via the forum.

Area Forums also provide an opportunity for residents to meet socially and to organise events.

For more information on Area Forums, please call 01749 334453 or email: involve@mendiphousing.co.uk.
